Jen Peters has been singing publicly since 2007, but grew up singing in her church when she was younger.
Jen started singing with Phat Mattress (formerly Flashback), then ended up in Spare Change Band where she met her husband, Rob.
After taking a 6-year hiatus to raise teenagers, Jen was contacted by Pour Decisions band founder Danny Finnell to see if she wanted to jump back into a group, to which she said yes!
Jen has enjoyed singing for all the people who have come to the gigs, making new friends and seeing old ones, and is looking forward to all the fun yet to come!
In her spare time, Jen loves to spend time with family, cozy up with a good book and find new songs for the band to work up.
Jen says, "When I was 8 years old and singing into my hair brush, pretending to be a rock singer, I never dreamed I would be doing it in real life! I'm thankful for the opportunity and for everyone who enjoys what I do!"
Danny Finnell, the founder of The Pour Decisions,a guitarist and vocalist, is from Shelbyville Kentucky.
He has performed in many local classic rock bands over the years, such as Better Daze, The Spare Change Band, Table for Five, and many others. He has performed at Rupp Arena, Cardinal Stadium and all over the central KY area. He wrote a song, "A Hole in My Pocket", that was recorded by the late John Moss that gained nationwide airplay.
Danny is also the band’s “fix-it” guy. He has a knack for coming up with imaginative ways to repair gear, sometimes on the fly, a talent that has helped the band out of some tight technical spots on occasion.
Alan was first introduced to music in the third grade, when he took trumpet lessons. He took up guitar at age 15, first by learning to play the bass guitar, before learning to play a six-string. Just a few months after picking up the bass, he was recruited into a local band and so began a pathway of performance that continued through college and law school, where he played pick-up gigs to help pay the bills, to the present.
He was the second person to join The Pour Decisions, right after its founder, Danny Finnell.
An attorney licensed to practice law in Kentucky, Alan had a four-decade distinguished career as a prosecutor, a defense attorney and as a director or head of various state agencies.
When not playing with the band, he can be found editing the band’s performance videos it shoots, maintaining its web-page, doing many of the band’s social media posts and negotiating and signing any necessary band performance contracts. An avid exercise enthusiast, he runs, lift weights and rides a bicycle to stay fit.
Joseph was born in Indiana. Involved with band and orchestra at school, he played drums along with all band and orchestra instruments before picking up the guitar in his late teens. In his early twenties he began learning piano, composition, and orchestration, having fallen in love with Romantic-era classical music.
He moved to Shelbyville, Kentucky in late 2008, becoming one of the region’s busiest music instructors, first with Main Street Music and then as a private instructor. In 2011, Joseph founded Shelby Music Experiences, blending private instruction with group-focused learning and performance.
During the day, Joseph has further cultured his educational prowess at Kentucky Community and Technical College, educating inmates and prisoners.
So, Joseph has a busy schedule. He teaches inmates and prisoners by day, gives music lessons during the week and has rocked with The Pour Decisions on weekends since he joined the group in January 2022.
If he had more free time, Joseph would spend it with his family, do some reading or begin work again on his second symphony.
Jonathan immigrated from Great Britain at age eleven and although he’s lived in the U.S. for decades, you can still hear a bit of the English accent when he speaks, which is cool. He currently lives near Waddy, Kentucky and you’ll always be able to find him in a crowd, because at 6’ 8’’, he’ll usually be the tallest person in the room.
He took up playing drums at age 14 after hearing Stewart Copeland playing the drums on The Police album “Synchronicity”, and he’s still inspired by those performances.
He’s played with numerous bands over the years as a singer/songwriter/drummer and performed on multiple studio recordings for solo artists.
His musical influences include Charlie Watts, Stewart Copeland, Mitch Mitchell, John Densmore, Steve Gadd, and Joe Morello.
